Our productsCopper fittings & brass threaded connectors
Copper fittings for tube connections, plus brass threaded connectors shown in the supplied range. Compare shapes and end connections, then match each item to the tube size, joining method and service conditions.
01 / SIZES & SELECTION
Specify the size system and every connection end.
A nominal inch size, a metric tube OD and a thread size are different designations. State the governing tube standard and actual outside diameter, then label every end of a reducer or branch fitting.
The dimensions below are practical sourcing examples, not a confirmed stock list or manufacturing limit. Supply combinations and tolerances are confirmed for the selected grade, temper and order.
| Form / dimension | Common inquiry examples | Selection notes |
|---|
| Metric tube connections | 12, 15, 18, 22, 28, 35, 42, 54 mm tube OD | Common purchasing examples. Match the fitting socket to the specified tube OD and standard, and confirm joint type, wall thickness and installation clearance. |
|---|
| Inch ACR tube connections | 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 5/8, 3/4, 7/8 in tube OD | ACR field-service tube is designated by actual outside diameter. Do not substitute a nominal plumbing-tube size carrying the same inch number. |
|---|
| Nominal copper plumbing sizes | 1/2, 3/4, 1 in nominal CTS | The actual tube OD differs from the nominal designation. For example, 1/2 in nominal copper water tube has a 5/8 in OD. Identify the intended tube standard. |
|---|
| Elbows and return bends | 45° / 90° elbows; 180° U return bends | Provide each end size and type, centreline or bend radius, centre-to-end dimensions and required orientation. Long-radius and street ends must be stated separately. |
|---|
| Tees, couplings and reducers | Equal / reducing; two or three ends labelled on a sketch | Show the run and branch sizes, stop or no-stop coupling requirement, overall length and socket depth. Use a labelled drawing to avoid port-order ambiguity. |
|---|
| Brass threaded connectors | 1/4, 3/8, 1/2, 3/4, 1 in thread designations | Specify male or female at each end and the exact thread standard: NPT, BSPT or BSPP as required. Equal nominal sizes do not establish interchangeability. |
|---|
Distinguish socket, spigot and threaded ends
For solder-joint catalogues, C commonly denotes a tube socket and FTG a fitting/spigot end, while M and F identify male and female threads. Confirm the supplier drawing and legend rather than relying on abbreviations alone.
Sealed fittings are part of a defined system
For press-type or other sealed connections, identify the exact end geometry, seal material, compatible tube and installation tooling. A raised bead or visible O-ring does not establish interchangeability, service approval or pressure rating.
Define fit, layout and acceptance requirements
- Agree socket bore, insertion depth, tube stop, wall thickness, end roundness and centre-to-end dimensions against the specified fitting standard or drawing.
- For threaded parts, state the thread standard, size, gender, engagement and gauging requirements. For sealed parts, define the seal and system specification.
- Provide the service fluid, working and design temperature/pressure, applicable project requirements and required inspection documents for quotation review.
