Straight copper tubes

Straight copper tubes for HVAC, refrigeration and industrial fabrication inquiries. From outside diameter to final packing, define the details your project needs and request a quotation by specification.

01 / DIMENSIONS & TOLERANCES

Specify the tube your project needs.

The table lists actual outside diameters used in common ACR inquiries. Plumbing nominal sizes follow a different convention. Always state the actual OD, wall and governing standard.

Actual OD · inchActual OD · mm
1/4″6.35 mm
3/8″9.52 mm
1/2″12.70 mm
5/8″15.88 mm
3/4″19.05 mm
7/8″22.22 mm
1 1/8″28.58 mm
1 3/8″34.93 mm
1 1/2″38.10 mm

Outside diameter & wall thickness

State dimensions as outside diameter × wall thickness, in mm or inches. Include the minimum acceptable wall, any required internal diameter and the drawing revision. Wall thickness must be matched to the intended duty and standard.

Straight or cut lengths

Common industry references include 3 m, 5 m and 6 m straight lengths. Request the exact length, cut-length tolerance, end finish and bundle weight that suit your production and freight plan.

Agree the measurable requirements

  • Diameter & wall: specify permitted OD variation, wall variation, minimum wall and ovality using the chosen standard or drawing.
  • Straightness & ends: define straightness, cut squareness, burr removal, surface condition and end protection where relevant.
  • Length & sampling: agree cut-length deviation, measurement methods, inspection sampling and batch identification before production.

Dimensions are inquiry references, not a stock list. Supply range, tolerances and application suitability are confirmed against the selected material, standard and order requirements.

02 / GRADE, TEMPER & STANDARD

  • Grade: C12200 / Cu-DHP are common deoxidized copper tube designations. For TP2 or CW024A, include the governing material standard; confirm any cross-standard substitution.
  • Temper: request hard-drawn, half-hard or annealed tube according to fabrication needs. Temper designations and mechanical properties must correspond to the selected standard.
  • Standard by use: ASTM B280 / EN 12735-1 for relevant ACR piping inquiries; ASTM B88 / EN 1057 for relevant water or heating tube inquiries; ASTM B75 for general engineering tube. State the edition and destination requirements.

03 / QUANTITY, PACKING & DESTINATION

  • Quantity: request 250 kg, 500 kg or 1 metric ton, or provide your target order quantity. List the quantity per diameter and wall; the applicable MOQ is confirmed by specification.
  • Protection: discuss capped ends, protective film, separators, bundle straps and wooden cases or pallets. Confirm maximum bundle weight and destination wood-packaging rules.
  • Delivery: provide the country, delivery postcode or port, requested trade terms, shipping marks and shipment schedule. Include unloading or container-length restrictions.

04 / INSPECTION & DOCUMENTS

  • Dimensional checks: request OD, wall, length, straightness, end finish and surface inspection, with agreed sampling and material or heat identification.
  • Material & service requirements: identify chemistry and mechanical-property evidence. For ACR service, specify internal cleanliness, dry and sealed ends, and any agreed eddy-current, pressure or leak test.
  • Delivery documents: specify the material test report, conformity statement, packing list, invoice and origin documents you need. Agree any EN 10204 document type or third-party inspection in the order.

Useful details before you inquire

Is a 1/2-inch plumbing tube the same as 1/2-inch ACR tube?+

Not necessarily. ACR tube is commonly identified by actual outside diameter; plumbing tube may use a nominal size. Provide the actual OD and standard to avoid a mismatch.

Can I request cut lengths and protected tube ends?+

Yes. Include the required length, tolerance, deburring, end caps and bundle or case requirements in your inquiry. The quotation confirms the available processing and packing.

How do I choose the wall thickness and standard?+

Provide the application, design requirements, drawing and destination market. The required wall and governing standard should be specified for your system; the product photos alone do not establish a pressure rating.
